Open Call: Worlds on Film
We invite submissions of existing work on film exploring the intersection of architecture, space and contemporary life on the island of Ireland, for screening in IAF House.
The Irish Architecture Foundation (IAF) is pleased to announce an open call for existing work on film exploring the intersection of architecture, space and contemporary life on the island of Ireland.
As Ireland marks its Presidency of the Council of the European Union, these curated film screenings will take place at IAF House in November 2026. The programme forms part of our official EU Policy Events programme being delivered in partnership with the Office of Public Works and the National Built Heritage Service. The call is intended to expand and augment an existing collection of film work which will be shown at that time. It will also offer more opportunities to have creative work in film and architecture shown as part of EU Presidency events.
We welcome submissions from filmmakers, architects, activists, artists and others. We are looking for films of any length, genre or style, including documentary, experimental, narrative and animation. The key requirement is that your work must reflect on how we live today in Ireland, with architecture, place and built and landscape environments core to the film narrative, subject or structure.
Films will be screened free to public audiences in continuous sequence on a range of screens at IAF House, Capel Street, during opening hours. Films must be available for public screening by IAF without licensing or screening fees. Filmmakers will retain copyright in their work and must ensure that all necessary screening permissions have been secured. The IAF will not retain films after the event.
Submissions
Films can be submitted until Friday 6 November.
All submissions will be considered for inclusion, subject to programme relevance, available capacity and technical requirements. The IAF reserves the right to make the final selection.
Please submit the following via email to opportunities@iaf.ie:
The film file in .mov or .mp4 format or an open link to download that is not time restricted.
All credits relevant to the film must be submitted, including title, all authors, film length, year made.
A caption of 150 words maximum.
Promotional stills if available — up to three shots.
Please include confirmation that you have read and agree to the Terms and Conditions and have the necessary rights and permissions to submit your film for public screening.
