ILI Lecture: The Metals Project

The ILI Lecture Series 2013 launches on Thursday January 24th with a presentation on the regeneration of the ‘Metals’ from Bob Hannan, Senior Architect with Dun Laoghaire Rathdown Co. Council. Originally built as a transport route for moving stone from quarries around Dun Laoghaire and Dalkey, the Metals redevelopment includes a series of new public spaces, a play area and a new walkway.

The Metals project won the Irish Landscape Institute Public Realm Award 2012 (Atkins Global in association with Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council Architects Department) and also achieved an RIAI Award for Public Space/Urban Design this year.
