Exhibitions

This season at IAF House, we present three exhibitions that act as evidence towards countering negative and untrue narratives about our built world.

Featuring the work of many of Ireland's top architects at home and abroad, To Not Design Is To Cost The Earth argues the absolute value of design when it comes to building a better, fairer world. Curated by the IAF.

HouseEurope! presents evidence of the wanton, unnecessary demolition of buildings in Europe when cities and those that live in them badly need more space for housing. Presented in collaboration with Islander Architects.

Mise Le Meas presents evidence of the loss of social, cultural and intellectual capital that is happening as our young people leave Dublin to build their lives abroad. Curated and produced by Dawna collective.

Sensory Space

IAF House offers a sensory room, a quiet, calming space designed for visitors who may feel overstimulated or overwhelmed.

In this sensory-friendly space, visitors can take the time to calm down, regulate their stress responses, and renew their focus. It is open to all. However, visitors may be asked to leave if someone urgently needs to use the room in private.

The room is divided into two zones: Seating Area and Movement Area. These zones support different self-regulation needs. Please treat all furniture and items with care so that others can enjoy them too.

Room Features:

  • Visual: Soft lighting with changeable colour settings

  • Auditory: Gentle ambient sound with adjustable volume and disposable earplugs

  • Body awareness: Yoga ball, stretching mat, and bean bags

  • Tactile: Fidget toys and sensory stepping stones

Calming down can look different for different people. Please give others space and be mindful for everyone’s right to calm down without interruption or judgement.
