Dublin 2016: Towards a Vision for a World Class City

On Monday 12th May Dublin City Council and Lord Mayor Oisín Quinn held a keynote address on “Dublin 2016: Towards a Vision for a World Class City: A contribution to a Decade of Commemorations”. The event was held in association with the Irish Architecture Foundation. After the keynote speech followed contributions by panelists, and then a Q&A with attendees.

Panelists included: Frances Ruane, Director, ESRI Gerry Cahill, Architect Maurice Manning, Chair of Expert Advisory Group on Commemorations Nathalie Weadick, Director, Irish Architecture Foundation

The speech and discussions covered a range of topics such as housing issues, overcoming past challenges, the importance of community engagement and the need for inclusive public spaces. There was an overall theme of sustainability and how multidisciplinary approaches are necessary in order to create long-term solutions.
